with speaker Dr Andrew Jackson

The rain and the sun, the sowing and the harvesting, the despair and the cheer: life in the Lincolnshire rural year for Bernard Samuel Gilbert, early twentieth-century dialect poet

Andrew Jackson is Professor of Local, Regional and Landscape History at Lincoln Bishop University. He is a geographer as well as historian, but also works across into English literature and art history. Andrew’s interests concern most what was happening around a century ago, which today takes us to the 1920s and into the 1930s. What has changed and what has not, he often asks?
